Dear Colleagues and Friends, Welcome
to the Canadian Society for Horticultural Science’s national 2022
conference. The theme of the conference is Innovation in Canadian
Horticulture, and will take place at the
Lord Nelson Hotel and
Suites, 1515 South Park street, Halifax, NS, B3J 2L2 from August 18
to 20, 2022. Halifax is the largest Canadian Atlantic city and is a
spectacular heritage and futurist city to
discover and enjoy.
Its international airport connects easily Europe, USA and the rest
of Canada. Halifax is also 1hour drive from the
Annapolis
Valley, one of Canada’s best fruit-growing regions one of Canada’s best fruit-growing
regions.
The Conference offers a diversified series of
four symposia with both oral and poster sessions addressing all
aspects of horticulture including a Cannabis and
High-Value Plants Symposium, a Fruit Symposium
(production, pre- and postharvest),
Innovations in Vegetable Production Symposium
(production, pre- and postharvest),
a Potato Symposium (production, pre- and
postharvest), and a
Haskap workshop.
A pre-conference tour scheduled for August 18, 2022 in the
Annapolis Valley. It will be focused on visiting apple and tree
fruit, blueberry, vineyards, tunnel and field vegetable, and haskap
production facilities across the Annapolis Valley.
In addition to renowned keynote speakers and scientific talks, many
symposia are expected to have a wrap up panel session consisting of
industry, government and academia for a targeted discussion on
critical issues of importance to that sector.
The meeting will be consisted
of both oral and poster sessions.
